first Roundtable meeting since the
reorganization drew some 65 lead-
en and volunteers, he noted.
Shelby County, the other half of
the fanner Attoyac District, is now
grouped with Nacogdoches County.
District #5 is currently without a
district executive. Rosebrook said.
Jim Head, the council's director of
field services, is overseeing the
new district until the position can
be filled.
For the Scouts and parents, there
are few changes to adapt to. Rose-
brook said, except for new faces at
district meetings and, eventually, a
new name for the district

Raleys to celebrate golden anniversary
Sam and Carolyn Raley will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary
on Feb. 9,1994. They were married in Amarillo during World War II.
After leaving the service, Mr. Raley was employed by United Gas Pipe
Line Co., and Mrs. Raley was a teacher. They returned to Carthage in
1981. The couple was honored earlier with a family dinner party in
Shreveport by Gordon and Nancy Raley and Tiffany; Lara and David
Bryan, Christopher, Craig and Courtney; and Arrie and John
McLaurin, Shane, Patrick and Kristen.

"We just need to establish where
these cases will be filed and file
them all the same way. It looks bad
for someone to call and ask for a
case to be transferred over," Sam
ford stressed.
In the future, any request for
change of venue, under guidelines
of the newly-formalized policy,
would be reviewed by the JP at a
hearing to determine if the case
merited a transfer.
Pop Piano Workshop will use the
simple chord method to introduce
adults to the piano in one three-
hour class. Patty Bilharzt will em
phasize maximum enjoyment —
having fun playing the piano right
away. Students see immediate re-
sults and will take home a huge
amount of musical information to
continue their study. Students most
know the treble clef and basic key-
board orientation. The class will be
offered Thursday, Feb. 24, from 6
to 9 p.m. The cost is $50, including
a workbook and 60-minute practice
cassette.
° Bridge for Beginners will
take novices through the basics of
bridge under instructor Sharon L.
Mefford. The eight-part class be-
gins Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m..

Beasleys to celebrate 40 years together
Maude and Doyett Beasley's 40th wedding anniversary celebration will
be held on Feb. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Texas State Bank banquet
room in Timpson. The Beasleys wed on Feb. 11, 1954, in Carthage;
they now reside in Gary. Friends and family are asked to come cele-
brate this special occasion for this special couple. The reception will be
hosted by the couple's three sons, Howard Beasley of Carthage, Jimmy
