Prescription For Pleasure
The telephone by your side can be pretty good
medicine—all by itself.
It’s one of the best cures for loneliness. I’m think-
. ing, especially, of those long distance calls to talk to
loved ones and old friends away from home.
And how about those easy-going conversations wo-
men enjoy during the day? When you’re tired of look-
' ing at the ironing board, or when the mop starts to *
get a little heavy, a short “telephone break’’—just a
few minutes chat with a friend or neighbor—really
brings you back smiling.
Your telephone is more than just a convenience.
There’s plenty of pleasure and relaxation built into
it, too. So upe it as often as the mood strikes you.
That’s what it's there for. g

These sources told United Press

They said the White House is

Adams returned from a fishing

creased after the Maine election
in which Gov. Edmund Muskie de-
feated Sen. Frederick Payne, the
Republican incumbent, in the sen-
atorial race. Payne had admitted
accepting gifts from Adams’ mil-
lionaire friend, Bernard Goldfine,
but even though this was never
made an issue in the campaign
the Democrats swept to an un-
precedented victory.
Adams has been under fire
since congressional investigators
disclosed he accepted lavish gifts
from Goldfine and had made in-
quiries at federal agencies about
matters involving Goldfine’s tex-

Where is the telephone in your home? Is it where
you can always reach it easily when it rings—or when
you want to make a call?
Or is it in a central hall or in the middle of the
house—not really close to any place where members
of your family are when they want to use it?
Families with modern telephone service like to

With your home equipped with handy extension

Why not order more telephones for your home to-
