CROSSWORD PUZZLE Answer to Yesterday'a Puzzie '
They said they were convinced
he was responsible for the dis-
appearance of Carol Gee, 11, and *
Margaret Chambers, 12, on the
basis of a note he left at his home
before disappearing Sunday kf-
self. R
The girls, who lived near eah
other two blcks from Stephens’
home, , were last seen Saturday
when they left to pick wildflowers
in the rugged Macatawa Hills
south of here A search for them
was started late Saturday when
they did not return. - —
Stephens disappeared Sunday
morning after having a hearty
breakfast at the home of his
mother and step-father. His note,
which was found on his bed in the
afternoon, said he was sorry he
shot two persons and that he was
bicycling to Arizona or New. Mex-

FARMINGTON, N. M (UPI)—
F. G Woodside of Lubbock, Tex.,
was kilted. Sunday when his plane
suddenly spiraled out of "bntrol
and crashed at the edge of the
Farmington airport
His flight plan indicated he was
en route from Salt Lake City to
Lubbock. • '
He stopped at Farmington and
refueled and took off again
About five minutes later, wit-
nesses saw his light plane return-
ing. They said he made, an ap-
proach to the field, but when the
plane was about 600 feet from
the ground it went out of control
