Funeral mass began at 3 p.m. Mon-
day in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic
Church. Burial followed in Ebony
Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Polo Flores,
Roger Adame Jr., Joe Alex Adame,
Joe Fernandez, Oscar Fernandez,
David Newton, Fernando de la Garza
and Javier Gorena. Honorary pallbear-
ers were Mona Adame and Chano
Adame.
Garcia and Trevino Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
Additionally, should you fail to
comply, the city will begin with the
demolition of the house. The
homeowner will be responsible for
the cost of the demolition. If pay-

Floresville to Fritz and Millie
. A Memorial Mass will be offered
Saturday, July 19 for Ramon Gutierrez,
Jr., who died June 4 in Pontiac.
* The Mercedes native was 54 at the
time of his death.
The services will begin at 4 p.m. in
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church,
322 South Vermont in Mercedes.
0 Born in Mercedes, he had attended
Mercedes public schools. He had been
employed by General Motors Truck &
Bus in Pontiac since 1968. He had mem-
bership with St. Michael’s Catholic
Church in Pontiac.
Survivors include his wife, Grace, of
Pontiac; three children, Gina (Adrian)
Mendoza of Camp Pendleton, Califor-
nia, Ramon (Diane) Gutierrez III of
Waterford, Michigan, and Jonah
Gutierrez of Pontiac; and six grandchil-
dren.
Ramon is also survived by his father,
Ramon Gutierrez, Sr. of Mercedes; his
sister, Olga (Adolfo) De La Fuente of
Harlingen; his brother, Oscar (Delia)
Gutierrez of Mercedes; seven nieces;
two nephews; and four grandnieces and
three grandnephews.
He preceded in death by his mother,
Guadalupe 0. Gutierrez, and two sisters,
Frances Gutierrez and Mary Esther
Mendoza.
: 6 Rosary was recited June 8. Mass of
the Resurrection was celebrated June 9
at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Inter-
ment followed at Ottawa Park Cemetery
Also surviving are four grandchil-
dren, Karlyn and Brock Biddle, and
John Everett and James Blake
Teltschik; his sister, Minifred, and her
husband Ben Aoueille of San Anto-
nio; and numerous nieces, nephews
and cousins.
Visitation took place Sunday, July
13 at the Chapel of Overby Funeral
Home.•
Memorial services began at 11 a.m.,
Monday at the Kerrville Municipal
Auditorium, with Pastor Douglas
McBride and Rev. B.J. Rogers offici-
ating. A private burial followed.
Pallbearers were Trey Aoueille,
Charles Connally, Fritz Connally, Sr.,
Fritz Connally, Jr., Kelly Connally
and Joe Rogers.

His career as an educator of music
was long and illustrious. He served as
a band director in Port Lavaca from
1957 through 1960, in Mercedes from
1960 through 1969, and at Kerrville
Tivy High School from 1969 through
1992. As a director, he led his band to
29 years (22 at Tivy) of consecutive
sweepstakes awards. The MHS Tiger
Band won many honors during his
tenure here.
After leaving Mercedes, he served
as director at Kerrville Tivy until his
retirementin 1992. The school's Band
Hall was recently renamed in his honor.
He was President of the Texas Band
Masters Association in 1971-1972. He
was a member of the Zion Lutheran
Church in Kerrville, Texas Bandmas-
ters Association, Phi Beta Mu and
Texas Music Educators Association.
He is survived by his wife, Judy
Teltschik of Kerrville; sons, Jim and
his wife Tracey Teltschik of Houston,
and John Teltschik of Plano; and
daughters Deanna and her husband

Born March 6, 1946 in Mercedes,
I the lifelong resident had a varied ca-
I reer as a businessman, labor contrac-
I tor, government employee and foreign

What did not vary was how he
cherished his sons, treasuring their
I childhoods and supporting their ac-
| tivities as young boys, then through

Funeral services took place July 8
for Ruby Helen Jones of Houston who
died July 6 at the age of 85.
Bom in Grand Falls, Texas in 1911,
she was a longtime resident of
I ■ Mercedes. She was a member of the
I First United Methodist Church of
Mercedes.
She is survived by two daughters,
Barbara Durfee and Linda Bearden,
both of Houston, and a son, B.W. Jones
of Weslaco. She also had three grand-
children and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death
by her husband, Byron W. Jones, in
1981.
• Funeral services took place July 8
in Houston.

He is survived by two sons, Robert
J. Adame of Edinburg and Ronald L.
Adame, and his wife, Raquel, of
McAllen; and a brother, Roger X.
Adame, and his wife, Janie, of
Mercedes.
Also surviving are three nephews.
