TOURNAMENT WINNER THREE WEEKS STRAIGHT — Wallace Jones,
III must be quite a fisherman, as he’s won the weekly tournament at
Pirate’s Landing Pier three weeks straight. Competing in the children’s
division, Wallace first won the event on November 7, when he took a
19.5 inch speckled trout weighing 2.25 pounds. Then, on November 13.
he took a one pound, 15 3/4 inch speck for his second win in the 12 and
under division. Last weekend, he took the stringer-full of specks he
shows above, taking the winner for the week on November 21, when he
caught a 15 3/4 inch speck that weighed in at a pound and a quarter:
Others on the stringer were 15.5 15.25 and 15 inches in length. On
November 20, at the Sea Ranch Pier, he took a 16 incher. With each win
in the weekly tournament, he earns an 11-pass admission card to the
pier and gets an entry in the monthly tourney, where he stands to win
prizes inc luding a television set. He fishes with his dad, Wallace Jones,
Jr., mom, Rosalinda, and sister, Beverly.
