Chamber elects new board directors members
According to the Greater Boerne
Chamber of Commerce bylaws, the
board, which consists of 15 mem-
bers, elects five new directors each
year to replace the five who rotate
off the board after serving a three-
year term.
A nominating committee, appoint-
ed by the chairman of the board, se-
lects a slate of potential board direc-
tors from a list of members in good
standing who are nominated for a
board position.
Consideration is given to possible
directors who best represent the
membership by business sector.
These nominees are interviewed by
the nominating committee to make
sure that they are willing to commit
the time and effort it takes to serve.
The Chamber board sets policies
and long-range goals for the organi-
zation as a whole. Board members
serve a three-year term and may
serve no more than two terms.
After the slate of potential board
directors has been nominated by the
Committee, the slate then goes be-
fore the entire board for approval. If
