P. T. A. Notes
The last regular meeting of
the scholastic year of ihe P. T
A. was held Friday, June 4th.,
at the Schsol house with a fair
attendence. Various unfinished
business was disposed of and
finished. The Club decided to
buy a Victrola which had been
rented and in use in the build-
ing. Mr. Willie Hajek being kind
enough to tuake us a very close
price which we appreciate very
much.
Treasurer gave her report
with a balance on hand of $281.96
Chairman of Membership
Committee made it quite clear to
the Club why dues should be
raised and upon motion Club
voted to raise dues to Seventy-
five cents per year.
Chairman of Inspection and
custodian were instructed to
have the ovens in the cooking
room painted alse one stov3
which needed attention.
We were sorry to have to ac-
cept the resignation of Mrs. H.
A. Seneelmann as 3rd. Vict-
President her successor was not
voted upon at this meeting.
When everything is taken into
consideration the Club has had a
most successful year and we
hope to make the next one even
better so let's all pull together.

Big Ranch Divided
Deeds of conveyance were
drawn and title perfected in the
law offices of Judge E. J. Motis
in the Newman Building at Yoa-
kum to one of the largest
ranches in DeWitt county, con
sisting of 1867 acres of land
near Edgar and valued at
$65,000.00 whereby C. H. Nie
mann got the east 933 1-2 acres
and W. H. Meyer got the west
933 1*2 acres, both being old
time residents of Lavaca county.
They both have the ranched
stocked with fine cattle.—Hai-
lettsville New Era.
The Russek Lake Club Tues-
day mornine received several
cans of little Bass from the
State Hatchery at Dallas. The
supply of fish from the State
Hatcheries seem to be limited
and very hard to get, the local
Club having had their order in
for some time, and now only rp-
ceived about half of the supply
desired.
Sheriff Wm. Loessin was in
our city Sunday and carried
back to LaGrange with him
John Murphy, Colored, of our
city who was billed some two
years ago tor the murder of his
wife here. His case at that time
was postponed and he has been
out on bond.
