Photograph of spectators gathered in and around a wooden grandstand for the cornerstone ceremony for the new West Texas State Normal College administration building. The grandstand is decorated with bunting, flags, and college pennants. Railroad tracks, constructed to allow delivery of building materials, run to one side of the grandstand, and a stationary train sits on the tracks in the background. A house and outbuildings are also visible in the background.

Note on verso reads:

"Spectators at the ceremonies for the laying of the cornerstone for the administration building, W.T.S. Normal College, Sept. 15, 1915. The railroad was build across the football field in order to facilitate the delivery of materials. Among the citizens to be seen are W.F. Heller, Mit Slack, Henry Baker, Cleveland Baker and Ed Baird."
