Legal Division of the Railroad Commission
of Texas met in emergency session in
Room 12-126, William B. Travis Building,
1701 North Congress Avenue, Austin. Ac-
cording to the agenda, the division consid-
ered emergency interim approval of general
commodities common carrier certificates of
public convenience and necessity. These
emergency interim certificates would be au-
thorized to respond to the public emergency
created by the cessation of the services pro-
vided by certified carrier Burk Motor
Freight, Inc. along points authorized by its
common carrier certificate, that are not cur-
rently served by any other certificated carri-
er. The cessation of these services has left
the shipping pubic without regulated gen-
eral commodities less-than-truckload ser-
