I have taken a liberty which I hop* and trust you i! 3

will excuse when you hear ay reason for what I have don(e). § g*
on ny arrival at this place I found Horace had expended at^*^^
his money and could not proceed untill he had obtain'd a
supply. I therefore found it absolutely necessary to draw
a Draft for 300 Dollars to furnish him and Myself with the
means to pay the Carrage of goods and purchase a Barge, a
Draft on New Haven I found could not be negociatedT^ I there-
fore Drew on your House for the 300 Dollars at sixty days
not to be presented untill about first of Sep! and to meet
this Dr<*ft I have enclos'd a Draft on Cap* Henry Austin for
the same amount—ail discounts or postage that may arise in
the arrangement of this business you will debit to the ac-
count of K Austin and Co my waggons have not yet arrived but
expect them in about six days Horace left this this day and
I have a barge ready to receive ay goods on there arrival
and all my hands enjoyed the Siver ingoedOrder so that I tr**t
I shall reach R*rculaneum in 20 days from the day I
leave this place an establishment of which I read Lead is
preparing at Pittsburg the demand for which it said is great—
any change in the markets you will be so good as to inform
