Sir:
The SUBJECT was arrested at Love Field Air Terminal on
June 6f 1967 by Officer Robert E. Smith of the Radio Patrol
Division, Oallas Police Department, He was arrested after he was
seen throwing lapel buttons on the floor in the terminal. The
buttons were approximately one and one half inches in diamater
and had the words. "WHERE IS LHK HARVEY OSWALD THAT WE
REALLY NEED HIM?" printed on them.
The SUBJECT was interviewed at the City Hall by the undersigned
officer. He stated that he was personaly aquanted with the
President and all of his family. He was very evasive about his
motives in scattering the buttons. He did state that he had
once sold President Johnson a helicopter and that their
disagree raent was not over that but that it came later. Later
in the interview he stated that his third wife had left him
over SAM HOUSTON JOHNSONf the President's brother, and that
the administration had been trying to keep him "shut up" about
this.
He stated that the lapel buttons were made in Austin, Texas, by
Underground Publications. He denied having ordered them but
stated that a friend had sent them to him.
The SUBJ3CT stated that he and a party of twelve were enroute
to Mew York when he was arrestedo They had reservations at the
Stanhope Hotel for the night of June sixth and planned to go
to Heading, Pa* on June seventh and attend the Air Show there#
He had a ticket on American Airlines flight 128 which was
scheduled to arrive in New York at 3:07 p, m. on June 6t 1967.
At the time he was arrested the SUBJECT handed one of his male
companions five one-hundred dollar bills and told him to take
care of the "stuff" in the bags and that he would see him in
New York.
