THE SCHOOL PROBLEM.
is expected to come to the sup-
port of the School Board and its
plans. Such a time as this re-
quires the co-operation of every
citizen because a divided citizen-
ship can never build a system of
schools such as is desired for the
children of this city.
BURLESON'S RECOMMENDATIONS.
Now that an ordinance submit-
ting i school bond issue election
to the neonle is hcing prepared
evcry citizen and particularly
every patron of the schools
should give careful consideration
to ihe school problem to the end
that no mistake my be made in
-voting for or against the hond is-
-m f &Rf) 000. asked bv tLK5
33oard of Trustees.
It is readily seen by anyone
wk has made even a cursory in-
vestigation of the local school sit-
uation that some measure of re-
" lief is imperative if the efficiency
of the public schools is to lie
maintained. Every school build-
ing is iioiv badly crowded and
Ibis condition is constantly becom-
ing worse as new pupils are en-
rolled. Already it has found
necessary to refuse entrance to
certain classes of pupils under the
scholastic age and still every
classroom-is full to overflowing.
The Board of Trustees has giv
en careful consideration to the j
school problem during the past
rtwo ur three years. The Trustees
Ifeave seen the approach of the
.ondition which is now handicap-
ping the work of the schools and
liare "been powerless to prevent it
because the city was unahle to is-
isoe bonds for the construction of
-actional buiidins:. "Now that
dollars per month is not sufficient
for the soldier upon whom no
family is dependent and many of
the soldiers now in the national
guards camps have large families
dependent upon thtfn.
An' active motorcycle cop could
do a great deal of splendid work
directed toward the elimination
of the auto speeding nuisance in
this city just now.

HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF YOUR LUGGAGE?
Q
Surely you haven't forgotten to include luggage .on your Christmas list.
You may have thought' it too expensive a gift but you'll be surprised how far
your money goes here.
Luggage makes a wonderfully sensible gift for any man or woman. They
all travel once in a while at least.
You get nothing but quality luggage here. No matter how far it travels
or how roughly it is handled it will come through in good condition. An ex-
cellent Christmas line now on display.
