Membership dues payable
by January 1st, 1990
An updated copy of the 12th
Armored Division Association
Constitution and By-Laws was
published in last month's
edition of Hellcat News. Please
refer to By-Laws ARTICLE II,
Section 2 (pertaining to DUES)
which states: "Membership
dues shall be $10.00 per year,
payable on or before January
1st of each year. Notice shall
be given via the Hellcat News
that memberships are due and
payable as of January 1st. Sub-
sequent dues notices to all mem-
bers who have not paid their
membership dues by March 1st
shall be mailed to such individ-
uals by the Executive Secretary.
If dues are not received within
thirty (30) days of mailing such
notice, the membership will be
terminated."
With this notification, your
Secretary hopes that each and
every member will utilize the
dues envelope included in this
issue, and respond with his mem-
bership dues for the year 1990.
By so doing, it will eliminate
the unnecessary extra labor
and expense of sending out
delinquency notifications.
Membership cards for those
members who have already
paid their 1990 dues, will be
forthcoming, or will be in their
hands when this Hellcat News
reaches you.
Want to also inform each mem-
ber of his responsibility to ad-
vise the Secretary in advance
of any move from one address
to another (this includes those
moving from one seasonal
residence to another). Such in-
formation is necessary from the
standpoint of updating our Hell-
cat News mailing records, and
keeping our membership re-
cords updated. Each year we
are charged with a sizeable
amount of postage due expense
by the postal service as a result
of the laxity of some members,
who forget the association
when they submit their change
of address cards to the post-
office.
Members whose records are
marked as needing financial
help, will continue to be boost-
ed as in past years. So, if you
are unable to pay your member-
ship dues, due to financial cir-
cumstances, please drop a line
to the Secretary, so a confident-
ial notation may be made on
your membership record. We do
not want to drop any member
(for non-payment of dues) who
is interested in the association,
but unable to make his pay-
ment.
In responding with your dues
payments, bear in mind that
Associate Members (widows of
deceased members) are not ex-
pected to pay dues (although
some do voluntarily pay dues).
So, if you are financially able,
please include a booster contri-
bution to support the expense
of their monthly papers, and
those of your less fortunate
buddies. (Might mention that
the cost of printing and mailing
the Hellcat News is about equal
to the annual dues for each
member. So that leaves little,
or nothing to cover the rest of
the association expenses.)
So, please continue to support
the association, which has held
us together all these years. It's
a wonderful organization, com-

An Officer And
A Gentleman
Officers are made not born
and when they are made the
Congress of the United States
so states by making them "an
officer and a gentleman." One
such who has never needed
Congress to make him a gentle-
man since he has always been
a gentleman has been trying to
get the proper battery designa-
tion for, what must seem to him,
years. The last time he tried
this writer put him right back
into the wrong battery. So -
would you please correct your
rosters to show the Col. Rich-
ard W. Hockman belongs in
Hq/495 and not as he was list-
ed in the corrections in our Nov-
ember issue and another correc-
tion that needs to be made
- Ross W. Conley - D/44,

YOUR ROSTERS ACCORD-
INGLY!

WHOOPS!
Executive Secretary Norbert
Brummer calls to our attention
that "the reunion meeting min-
utes (second column of page 8)
pretaining to the Blue Ribbons
Awards, indicated the Mr. Hell-
cat Awards went to James
Stone, D/43; Samuel Pattin-
son, C/494; and Carl T. Moore,
A/134. The Award should have
been the Blue Ribbon (rather
than Mr. Hellcat). If possible,
please print a correction in the
December issue. This was my
error in typing the information
giving you for this issue."
