Dallas County probate record regarding the case of Thomas, D.L. & M.E. (Minors) and L.M. Martin (Executor or Guardian). This case contained 410 pages of documents. Mr. L.M.Martin, the guardian of the two minor children, was a fantastic record keeper. His records note the establishments that were located in downtown Dallas in the mid 1880's when downtown Dallas was a thriving, busy, and bustling center in the middle of the black-land prairie.
The Society has preserved genealogical information about families in Dallas and the surrounding area since 1954. They hold monthly meetings, sponsored lecture series, and summer institutes to foster education and interest in genealogy and to support collect and preserve information relating to Dallas County and its early history.
