I AT DEAN O. A. ULLRICH’S HOME
Honoring Mrs. J. W. Bergin, wife
of the Acting President, and Mrs.
John C. Granbery, Supervisor of
Wbmen, of Southwestern University,
the women of the faculty were host-
esses at a tea of beautiful appoint-
ments at the home of Mrs. O. A.
UlLrich on Thursday, Oct.' 3, from
three to six o’clock.
The reception suite was artistical-
ly decorated with a profusion of
giant zinnias, brilliant in autum
hues. The miisic room was attractive
with tall baskets of rose lilies and
vases of Queen’s Crown. The parlor
was adorned with handsome Mexican
urns, filled with purple asters and
dahlias.
The guests were greeted at the
door by Mrs. Ruth Ferguson, and
were met in the reception hall by
Mesdaraes J. C. Godbey, Claud How-
ard, F. C. A. Lehmberg and ^Jrs. I.
J. McCook, who escorted them to the
guest book, which was presided over
by Mrs. R. W. Tinsley.
Receiving ih the music room were
Mesdames Gebrgia Bridgers, Mattie
forger, H. E. Meyer, A. R. Wapple,
M. L. Williams and Miss Lucy Belle
Morgan.
Receiving in the parlor with Mrs.
Ullrich were the honorees, Mesdames
Bergin and Granbery; and Miss
Margie Lee Howie, newly appointed
instructor in physical education; and
Miss Mary Jfenkhts, dietitian.
Misses Peafrl A. Neae and Velma
Tisdale conducted the guests into the
dining room, where Mesdames Mar-
garet McKennon and W. C. Vaden
presided at the tea table. Assisting
in the dining room were Mesdames
C. M. Edens, R, J. Kidd, T. H.
Marsh, Lawrence Starnes, Van C. Tip-
ton, and Miss Frances Love.
The tea table was overlaid with
Clhhy lace over green satin. A large
eilVer bowl of Michaelson’s daisies,
pink Radiance rosebuds, lavender
dahlias, and lace fern, flanked on eith-
er side by silver candlesticks, holding
tall green tapers, formed an attrac-
tive centerpiece.
Delicious refreshments of pine1-'
wheel sandwiches, Cocoanut Dreams,
Springerlies, candies, nuts, tea and
coffee were served to two hundred
guests.
Misses Iola Bowden and Helen
Moorman rendered delightful musical
selections throughout the afternoon.
Mrs. Cynthia Saxon of Corsicana
visited her daughter, Loraine, last
week-end.
Delia Batte spent last week-end at
home in Cameron.
Erline McNeeley cisited her home
in Troy last week-end.

the Alpha Delta Pi sorority with a
