In Style Thursday
For Western Day
Boots, plaid shirts and jeans and
calico will be fancy dress for West-
ern Day to be held at Southwest-
ern March 12. Sponsored by the
Student Christian Association and
the Student Association, Western
Day is planned to give a cowboy
flavor to the campus.
A Cowboy Dance in the gym will
climax pioneer day with string
band music a la phongraph and
caller. To give everyone an oppor-
tunity to brush up. on his Western
Star, a two-night square dance
ciinic will be open in the gym from
7 until 9 before the affair. Teach-
er.^ as will as students are invited
to participate in the Western ac-
tivities.
In charge of Western Day plans
is the Student Association social
committee headed by Dawnia Cox.
Working with her are Woody Her-
manson, David Lehmberg, Joe
Bert Sissom, Nancy Hamilton and
David Cardwell.

and Kappa Sigma fraternity, win-
ners of last year's Homecoming In-
tramural Sing.
Faculty members and the col-
lege staff will be available during
the morning on March 21 for in-
terviews, conferences, and demon-
strations, while the School of Fine
Arts will conduct repertoire class-
es.
In the afternoon open house" at
the dormitories and other student
residences is scheduled and an art
exhibit will follow.

A musical ‘program, “Requiem”
by Faure, will be given by the
Southwestern A’Cappella Choir,
and orchestra, John D. Richards
conducting, in the evening at the
Lois Perkins Chapel, followed by
an all-school dance in Jim West
gymnasium.
Campus to Host
Girls Tournament
Southwestern will play host, this
v/eekend, to a Regional Girls’ Bas-
ketball Tournament. Details are
not available, as Coach R. M. Med-
ley could not be reached for an in-
terview.
