rebounding responsibilities for the Phis.
John Legg with 16 points and Roy Vadas
with 13 points led the Sigs. Mark Eddens
bombed for 10 points. From the start of the
game it was a case of an out-classed Sig
team trying to keep-up with the Phis The
Phis took the first quarter 19 to 6. Stultz led
the Phi attack with 9 points. The second
quarter saw the Phis squeeze past the Sigs
16 to 15. The Phis breezed past the Sigs
with Hodgkins 6 points. Behind John
Legg s 9points, 18 to 10 in the third period^
the Sigs captured the final stanza 14 to 11,
but the effort was not good enough. The
first and third quarter revealed the
awsome Phi offense The Phis dominated
both the offensive and defensive boards. In
Monday action, the Phis move on the play
the winner of the Faculty-Second Floor
Brown game, while the Sigs play the loser
of that game. The Phis are the team to
watch in the tournament.
Faculty Crushes 2nd
Floor Brown
Faculty ran by 2nd Floor Brown 62-30 in
fourth game Thursday night of the *Tex
Kassen Classic The scoring was balanced
as the faculty’s Barry Woodward led all
scorers with 15 points. Jakie Schrum was
close behind with 14 points, Coach Bill
Merritt a notch behind at 12 and Harrison
had 11 points for the Faculty . Robbins led
Second Floor with 13 points.
The Faculty had a slim 23-18 half time
lead, but pulled away in the third quarter
for a 42-22 lead. The Faculty was never in
trouble during the second half.
Overall the Faculty had 22 field goals,
while 2nd Floor Brown had 13. The Faculty
team will play Phi Delta Theta Monday
night at 7:00 p.m. Second Floor Brown will
play Kappa Sigma at 9:30 p.m. Monday
night.
Independents Beat 3rd
Floor Brown Badly
Independents demolished 3rd Floor
Brown 84-25 in the fifth game. The GDI’s
were led by Bob Rupp who had 32 points
and 13 rebounds. The I’s had three other

Intramural Ping-Pong And
Pool Tournament

Saturday, January 16,1971
1. The intramural ping-pong and pool
tournament “singles” and “doubles” will
be held Saturday, January 16, 1971,
beginning at 9:00 a m in the SUB
2. Each team may enter four (4)
"singles“players and two (2) “doubles"
teams in each the ping-pong tournament
and the pool tournament.
3. The deadline for entries will be Friday,
January 15.
4. The tournaments shall be of the con-
solation type with places given for first
and second, and the winner of the con-
solation bracket awarded third place.
Merritt Named
to Top Committees
Coach Bill Merritt has been elected to
the N.A.I.A. District Committee of District
IV, a statewide, all university sports,
troubling shooting task force. He has also
been named a member of the District
Basketball Committee of District IV,
which handles problems pertinent to
basketball.

First Floor Brown beat the Pikes con-
vincingly 49-32 in the sixth game of the
Kassen Classic. Brownies came out in a
stall and checked the talented Pikes. Ken
Holley, who had scored 22 points the night
before against the KAs, was held to 5
