Major Oee Ann McWil-
iiams,daughter of Rach-
el McWilliams & former
L.O. McWilliams, Jr.,
was recently promoted
to that rank in cere-
monies conducted by
Major General Vincent
Falter, Commander of
the US Army Military
Personnel Center, Wash-
ington, D.C. Major Mc-
Williams is currently
serving as the Command-
er of the Personnel As-
sistance Point at John
F. Kennedy Internation-
al Airport in hew fork
City. She has been sel-
ected to attend the
Army Command and Gener-
al Staff College at
Fort Leavenworth, Kan-
sas, and will be moving
in July.

runs from June 4 to
June 10. Those making
the runs were Mary
Brown, 2 runs;Tim Nag-

neth Hanson. 1 run.
Donations were given

Caledonia
Homecoming
The annual Homecoming
at Caledonia will be
held Sunday, June 23,
1985. There will be
dinner on the ground.
Freewill donations for
cemetery will be ac-

Plan Programs
21 students at Timpson
High School are parti-
cipating in an Extended
learning Experience to
earn 6 credit in a Sum-
mer Homemaking Progrw.
The purpose of this
program is to help stu-
dents with a variety of
management skills rela-
ted to all areas of
homeMaking...such as:
Child Development. Care
and Guidance, Clothing
and Textiles, Consumer
Education, Family/Indi-
vidual Health, FeMily
Living and Parenthood,
Food and Nutrition,Home
Management, Housing
Home Furnishings and
Equipment.
Mrs.Kathleen Taylor and
Mrs. Bobbie Clay, Home-
making Teachers, become
better acquainted with
life styles of students
through home visits and
personal contacts in
order to relate more
satisfactorily with
them. They help plan
activities that will be
suitable to the needs
of the individual and
their families and as-
sist students in deve-
loping abilites and
attitudes needed to
reach meaningful goals.
In addition to doing
approximately 80 hours
of work on a particular
project at home, the
students wi 11 attend
workshops...a tour of
the Adkinson Candy
House in Lufkin, Merle
Norman Cosmetics demon-
stration, demonstration
of a computerized Sew-
ing Machine,plus a fun-
filled day of shopping
at South Park Mali,
Shreveport, La. These
students have many new
learning experiences in
store for them during
the cominq months.
This program has been
in existence over 30
years in the Timpson
High School, t due to
the Vocationa, Homemak-
lng Program being cut
from 11 months to 10,
the Summer Program will
be deleted fs of this
summer.
Timpson FHA officers
met this week to plan
programs,projects and
funtime for the coming
year. Officers for the
1985-86 year are Shari
Roland, Alecia Bums,
Melanie Hudsan, Sandy
Clay, Teresa Trala,
Andrea Oliver.
