Club Hostess
Mrs. W. L. Stokes Sr. was
hostess to members of the
Woman's Wednesday Club at her
homo last Wednesday afternoon
when the club observed its an-
nual Texas program. Roll call
was answered with a current
event in Texas and Mrs. 0. B.
Schwertner directed the showing
of a film on Texas. Mrs. W. L.
Patton federation councilor of
the club gave state and federal
club news.
A Dorothy Biddle bow-knot
arrangement was used "an the
coffee table and spring cut flow-
ers were used in arrangements
in the home.
Guests day will be observed at
the next meeting which will be
held on 'May 7th at 3 o'clock at
the American Legion Home.
.Mrs. W. V. Bane of Georgetown
will give a book teview at the
meeting. The Cornelia Wilson
Garden Club members and oth-
er guests will attend the meet-
ing as guests of the club.
Mrs. Stokes served a dessert
course to those attending the
meeting.
Remember to visit the food
sale sponsored by the ladies of
the Central Christian Church
Saturday. It will be held at the
building just west of Heel Jewelry.

son County Boy Scout Training
Course.
The Conference Dean was

Alpine both of Taylor.
Rev. W. Jack Lewis director
of the Christian Education Pro-
ject for Laymen of the Univer-
sity of Texas delivered the clos-
ing speech and summed up the
day's progress.

The Woman's Society of
Christian Service of the Metho-
dist Church met Monday after-
noon in the home of Mrs. John
IGillespie with Miss Martha
iSchrock as co-hostess.
Mrs. George Fowler was lead-
er for the program on "Mission
to America" and Miss Florenda
Wiederspahn Mrs. C. M. Gilles-
pie and Mrs. Joe Bridges took
parts on the program. Mrs. L.
C. Clemons gave the devotional.
A lace cloth covered the dining
table wich was centered with an
arrangement of purple iris. Ar-
rangements of other cut flowers
and potted plants were used
throughout the home. Miss
Bchrock served the cake and
Miss Patty Katherine Gillespie
assisted in the dining room.

Mrs. Otto Lange
H. D. Club Hostess
Mrs. Otto Lange was hostess
to the Bartlett Home Demon-
stration Club when it met Tues-
day afternoon at her home.
Mrs. Felix Heel and Mrs.
Ernest Carr gave a demonstra-
tion on the making of Peanut
Butter Bread and gave a recipe
of same to each person present.
During the business meeting
the club voted to purchase a
leather-carving set to be used
by club members. A history of
the organization was read at the
meeting.
The hostess assisted by Mrs.
Heel and Mrs. Carr served re-
freshments to two visitors Mrs.

a wedding supper at their home
here last Sunday night.

daisies' were used in the living
room. An arrangement of yel-
low and purple iris centered the
lace covered dining table.
