Fort Worth, Texas went to be
with her Lord on April 23,
2007. Born Christine Laverne
Grant in Cooper, Texas, she
married Delmer Joe Wood
from Henderson, Texas in
1944. They moved around
the state until they settled in

Billie Hugh McKinney
Cumming, 83, of Memphis,
Tennessee and former
resident of Delta County,
passed away Monday,
April 30th in Greenville.
Funeral services will be
Saturday, May 5th, at 2:00
PM at the Delta Funeral
Home Chapel and officiated
by Rev. Jody Mazzola and
interment will be in the
Oaklawn Cemetery. Family
will receive friends from
12:00 PM until service time,
Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cumming was born
in Yowell, Texas, September
11, 1923. She was the

Shirley Fay Foster, 60,
of Palestine, passed away
Wednesday, April 25th in
Palestine.
Funeral services were
Saturday, April 28th, at 11:00
AM at the Delta Funeral Home
Chapel with David Blagg of
Dublin, Texas officiating and
interment followed in the
New Klondike Cemetery.
Mrs. Foster was born in
Cooper, Texas, September 28,
1946. She was the daughter
of George Little and Ardath
Davis Little. She had lived in
Palestine since 1979 and was
Administrative Assistant for
the Anderson County Judge.
Fort Worth where she lived
for the remainder of her life.
Christine is survived
by her husband of 62 years,
Delmer Joe Wood, two
daughters, Helen Shepard,
husband Mike of Watauga,
Tx. and Shirley Hunt,
husband Phil of Burleson,
Tx. and a son, James Wood,
wife Pamela of Garland,
Tx., sister, Luetha Pat Grant
of Garland, proceeded in
death by parents Emmit
and Hazel Grant of Cooper,
Tx. and brother Chester
Grant of Greenville. She
had nine grandchildren and
twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held April
27, 2007 at Flamingo Rd.
Church of Christ with
burial afterward at Oaklawn
Cemetery, Cooper, Texas.
daughter of Hugh Carver and
Mollie Maryetta Fife Carver.
September 14, 1941 she
married Charles F. McKinney,
Sr. andheprecededherin death,
December 14, 1972. In 1974
she married Harvey Wayne
Cumming and he preceded
her in death, March 9, 2002.
Survivors include: two
sons Charles F. McKinney, Jr.
of Memphis, Tennessee and
Michael McKinney of Sulphur
Springs; six grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by twin sons, Lewis Hugh and
Billy Jim McKinney in 1945,
brother, Will Oliver Craver
and a sister, Melba Smith.
July 1, 1969 she married
Dwight Foster.
Survivors include:
Husband Dwight Foster of
Palestine; son and daughter-
in-law Randall & Kim Foster
of Stephenville; and Niece
Donna Jackson.
She was preceded in death
by her parents and a sister,
Joyce Jackson in 2000.

White, 87, Eufaula, was
held at 11 a.m. Thursday
at Eufaula First United
Methodist Church with the
Rev. John Breon officiating.
Mrs. White died
Tuesday, March 27, 2007,
at a Tulsa medical center.
Burial was in Greenwood
Cemetery under direction
of Hunn, Black & Merritt
Funeral Home, Eufaula.
She was born March 9,
1920, in Cooper, Texas, to
Winston and Florence Tilman
Fly. She graduated from
Cooper High School and later
graduated from and received
a BSC Master’s Degree from
East Texas State University
Commerce, Texas. She
married Col. Speck Lawrence
in 1958, in Lawton. He died
in 1988. On Dec. 29, 1990,
she married Clinton White of
Eufaula. She was an involved
member of Centenary United
Methodist Church and
performed a ministry to shut-
ins in Lawton. She was also

Owen
Mr. EdwinE. (Tiny) Owen
passed away Friday in Celina.
Funeral services were held
at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the
Delta Funeral Home Chapel.
Duane Hampton officiated
and interment followed
in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mr. Owen was born
March 15, 1926 in Delta
County. He was the son of
John H. Owen and Mamie
(Blake) Owen. He was Veteran
of World War II serving in
The United States Army.
He married Jean
Fagan March 19, 1964.
Survivors include: wife
a member of her church in
Eufaula. She was a member
of bridge clubs in Lawton
and Eufaula, and an involved
member of the Friendly Lake
Eufaula Area Supporters.
Survivors include her
husband, of the home; two
daughters and sons-in-law:
Nita and Mark Emden, Fort
Meyers, Fla.; and Barbara
and A1 Kouri, Lawton; a
stepson and his wife, Clinton
Charles White Jr. and Abby
White, Wichita, Kan.; two
stepdaughters: Beau Ann
Williams, Edmond; and Dixie
Lee Mosley and husband
Terry, Bixby; grandchildren:
Scott Puttkamer, Brook
Turner and Alex Kouri;
many great-grandchildren;
and a sister-in-law, Frieda
Fly, Rochester, Texas.
She was preceded
in death by her parents;
and a brother, Edwin Fly.
