DERRICK, our City Manager,
and MAYOR IIOER8TBR have
J both done their best to make
Let’s get serious a minute i the Issue clear-cut and easy
to understand.
They have explained that
there will be no Increase in
the tax rate If the bonds are
paxse(| and that no purchases
of laud will be necessary In
building the proposed dam
near the Park
There will be no tax raise
because Llano’s tax rate Is
already at the limit set by law
The only change will be that
there will be 28c more of the
tux" dollnr nnd a half applied
on bond retirement. This will
not affect the tax rate at all;
IT CAN’T.

The Llano Yellowjuckets
will be playing with blue chips
against Cross Plains tomor-
row night. This will be a
game that could very well de-
termine the district 9-A
championship, although Gold-
tliwalte bus a strong team this
year, and our game with them
may mean the title, should
the 'Jackets beat Cross Plains.
At .liny rate, the Yellowjac-
kets will need YOU and YOtT
and YOU on hand to cheer
them on tomorrow night. T-et's
show them we’re behind them
100%.

The twp Goodyear tires (hat
JACK TALLEY and JOHN
BROWN will present soon to
this underservlng one are a
mighty gratifying thing, espe-
cially to somebody who has
never won anything before.
It took no great skill to win
the tires; all an entrant had
to do was Hlgti up. Our npoli-
gles to Jack for any error In
last week’s story about this
matter. The story read "Good-
year’s * 150. Contest", and
there were actually $150,000
worth of money nnd goods
given away last week. Far he
R from me to low rate a con-
test that was generous to me.
