Now comes a wise paragraph writer
who assert that the success of life
does not depend upon holding a good
bud but in playing a poor hand well.
We will accept the statement as the
troth, the whole truth and nothing
but the truth. Success always comes
at a high price.

When Henry Ford purchased the
busted Lincoln Motor factory, he paid
eight million dollars cash for it. The
receiver then settled with the credi-
tors and fell short four million In hav-
ing enough to make up the shortage.
Ford was under no dbligations to pay
any additional amount, yet when lie
learned of the manner in which the
creditors would suffer, he promptly
wrote out Ills check for another four.
million dollars and turned it over to;
the receiver. That act showed (Im-

{.Mr. Lea were told in the San Angelo

i There has not been any early con- ’
trading, he said. This was done lad
year principally because of the great
need of the ranchmen for the mon-yv
to be used In paying notes anil shear-
ing charges. j
Shearing will start soon in this sec-1
tion, while it has commenced to get
under way In some of the border;

livestock conditions are prevailing in
all West Texas, Mr. Lea told in the!
interview'. It is estimated by Mr. Lei*
that the Texas clip of wool this year
will aggregate from 18 to 18’^ million
