Earl Clendennen, Jr., is proud of
his new pony, “Teddy,” more espe-
cially when he is all dressed up in a
new saddle. He typifies a real cow-
boy riding on the range.
The News is authorized this wetk
to announce the candidacy of F. Ray-
mond Gray of San Saba, for the of-
fice of Judge of the 33rd Judicial Dis
trict, of which this county is a part.
Mr. Gray is a man comparatively
young in years, but with'much exper-
ience behind him in legal work that
well qualifies him for the office he
seeks. Mr. Gray is well and favorab-
ly known throughout Llano county,
having lived a large part of his life
in the Cherokee community. He serv-
ed in the army during the World War
and shortly after his return moved to
San Saba to take up the practice of
law. Mr. Gray served his home coun-
ty as county attorney for several
terms. He asks the influence and
support of all voters at the polls in
July, based on his merits and quali-
fications for the position of District
Judge.

A box supper at the school build-
ing Friday night sponsored by the P.
T. A., netted $46.00. Since the or-
ganization of this group a year and
a half ago, a piano has been purchas-
ed for the auditorium, swings put on
the play ground, and lunch cabinets
for each room. Also through their
efforts, curtains were secured for the
stage. There is now a nice balance
in the treasury.

and Mrs. M. D. King spent the week-
end in Burnet.

F. C. WILLBERN ANNOUNCES
FOR JUSTICE OF PEACE
F. C. Wilibern, who is known to all
ttye citizens of Llano county, this
week authorized the News to an-
nounce his candidacy, subject to the
Democratic primaries in July, for
justice of the peace, precinct No. 1.
Mr. Wilibern has been a resident of
Llano county for the past 46 years.
The only public office he heretofore
has held has been that of commis-
sioner of precinct No. 1, a post he
held for eight years. Mr. Wilibern
states that he feels ably qualified to
perform all the duties of the office
he seeks and promises, if elected, fair
and impartial action as a magistrate
He respectfully urges all citizens,
who believe him qualified to fill and
deserving of the office, to give him
their vote and support.
