Contract Dot.
On Sept. 2, the contract for building
tba First National Bank at Comanche
was let. There were six bidders, and
the specifications called for atooe. Tay-
lor & Smith of Btepbenvllle submitted
samples of the BlepbeorUle brick, which
was thoroughly tested hy tke architect,
who pronounced them first class. These
gentlemen submitted two bids—one for
.tone and one for brick. The bid for
brick was accepted and the building will
be built of the Stephenville brick, trim-
med with blue sandstone, at a cost of
85,190, being 91100 cheaper than stone.
Taylor & Smith will go to work and en
large their brick works at Stephenville at
oace to meet the heavy demand which
they anticipate. The inside walls of the
court house at Stephenville will all be
brick. We congratulate these gentle-
men on their success,
brick is pronounced by Gordon A Lamb,
architects at San Antonio to be the best
common brick In Texas, baying stood a
test of 8825 pounds.
