Crosby County Clerk
Candidates:
Crosby County Judge
Candidates:

Tammy Marshall
Democratic Candidate for
Crosby County Clerk
My name is Tammy Mar-
shall. I am a candidate for the
office of Crosby County Clerk.
I was bom and raised in
Crosbyton. My husband is Mac
Marshall. He is from Ralls. We
have a son, Landon Marshall,
who is a freshman at Crosbyton
High School. Mac, Landon,
and I are members of the First
Baptist Church in Crosbyton. I
have two grown children, Andy
Tiner, who lives in Temple,
Danielle Tiner Burkett, who
lives in Lorenzo, along with
four beautiful grandchildren.
I have worked for Crosby
County, in the County Attor-
ney’s office, for 19 years. I feel
that I have the necessary quali-
fications to be your Crosby
County Clerk. I have worked
closely with the county clerk’s
office during my 19 years here
at the courthouse. I have famil-
iarized myself with the daily ac-
tivities occurring in the county
clerk’s office and I have knowl-
edge of most documents filed
there. While working with pri-
vate attorneys until 1995, and
for the County Attorney since
then, I have prepared a variety
of legal documents from War-
ranty Deeds to criminal com-
plaints, which are all recorded
in the Crosby County Clerk’s
office. I am a trustworthy, loyal,
and dependable person. I have
a very stable work background,
which can be witnessed by my
19 years employment for Cros-
by County.
I am asking for your vote
on March 4, 2014.

I am Johnna Ware and I am
a candidate for Crosby County
Clerk.
I was bom and raise in
Crosby County. I graduated
third in my class from Ralls
High School in 1999. I have
three children in the Ralls Inde-
pendent School District. Franki
is a freshman, Ramie is a sev-
enth grader and Dylan is a 5th
grader.
Following high school, I
was a office manager at Lone
Star Decorating Company in
Lubbock, Texas, which taught
me valuable skills in dealing
with the public and running an
office. In 2004 I started work-
ing for Crosby County Fuel
Association as the accounts
payable/accounts recievable
clerk for 9 years. For the past
7 months I have been emplyed
with Triumph Seed Co. doing
various office work.
I have a strong work ethic,
experience in dealing with the
public and a pleasant profes-

desire to continue home town
service that the citizens of Cros-
by County should expect from
their county government.
I would appreciate your
vote on November 4th and
would like the opportunity to
serve as your County Clerk.

David Wigley
Incumbant Democratic
Candidate for
Crosby County Judge
My name is David Wigley
and I am running for re-election
as your County Judge.
Four years ago I cam-
paigned on wind energy and
fracking as sources for eco-
nomic development in Crosby
County. Today, north of US
62/82 between Ralls and Loren-
zo, the first phase of Tri-Glob-
al’s Wind farm can easily be
seen. Massive concrete foun-
dations for Wake Wind farm
turbines have begun northeast
of Crosbyton. The landscape
south of Lorenzo has transition
into a Permian Basin look as oil
fracking continues to rapidly
expand. What happens because
of forward thinking projects?
Property tax relief, supple-
mental income for landowners,
added revenue for schools, and
stable good paying jobs for our
citizens occurs.
Positive economic devel-
opment does not just happen.
Crosby County competes with
other counties throughout West
Texas for wind farms. Vision-
ary judicial leadership works
together with a cooperative
Commissioners Court and com-
pany representatives to secure
these projects.
Leadership meets chal-
lenges with optimism. Cros-
byton, Ralls, Post and Spur
for their municipal water sup-
ply. The lake’s reliability as a
water source dried up with the
continuing drought, which is
now thankfully over. The lake
is once again supplying water
to these cities. But if another
drought should occur Garza,
Dickens and Crosby counties
now have a dependable alterna-
tive water source. We secured
a 100% grant for water wells,
treatment, and storage facilities.
These are fully operational and
all located in Crosby County.
My reputation has been es-
tablished among law enforce-
ment officers and lawbreakers
alike as a firm, but fair and con-
sistent judge. Criminal activity
and the scourge of illegal drugs
are problems our county must
deal with. My many years in
the criminal justice field and my
experience as your county judge
have prepared me to deal with
these difficult problems.
The Crosby County Judge
serves as Probate Judge, and as
such, handles not only wills, but
also often must make painful
and difficult guardianship deci-
sions concerning some of our
youngest and oldest citizens.
This takes both understanding
and compassion.
I campaigned in 2010 on
the promise of “tight fisted on
the budget” and I have delivered
on that promise. While the na-
tional inflation rate grew almost
7% during the last three years,
the Crosby County budget in-
creased only 2%.
In 2010 your tax rate per
$100.00 valuation was $0.59.
In 2015 your tax rate will be
$0.52, due primarily to an ex-
panded property base.
Janie and I have received
incredible support throughout
Crosby County as I have re-
spectfully asked for another
term as your County Judge. I
would appreciate your vote in
the General Election and prom-
ise to continue working toward
a positive future for Crosby
County.
Thank you for your vote.

collected for years, and have

honest, caring and hardworking.
I have a giving nature and I like

my loyalty, commitment and

what I start and pride myself in
doing things in a timely manner.
I am really looking forward to

Crosby County
Attorney Candidates:,
Joe Heflin
Democratic Candidate for
Crosby County Attorney
Small towns are great
towns, which is why I moved
to Crosby County from Lub-
bock in 1996. Having been
raised in Morton, my formative
years were shaped by the expe-
riences and opportunities that
are unique to small-town living.
It was important that my wife
Linda and I find a home where
we could grow deep roots, and
Crosby County became that
place.
In 1993, I graduated from
Texas Tech University School
of Law. Since then, I have de-
voted myself to public service.
Some highlights include:
• State Representative
for House District 85, two terms
• Crosby County Judge,
five years
• City Council of Cros-
byton, two terms
• Drafted manual for
the prosecution of white collar
crimes for the United States At-
torney’s Office in Lubbock
• White River Munici-
pal Water District Board Mem-
ber
On a personal note, I have a
general practice of law in Cros-
byton. My wife and I are active
members of the First Baptist
Church in Crosbyton, and we
volunteer in various organiza-
tions and projects that serve the
citizens of Crosby County. We
have two daughters and three
granddaughters, Alexandra,
Abigail, and Anna.
As I seek the office of
Crosby County Attorney, my
mission is clear:
I want Crosby County to be
a place where families can raise
children and live without fear. I
believe it is important to work
with our schools and provide
quality programs for young
people.
The sheriff’s department,
the city police officers, and the
White River Lake officer, along
with the DPS and other agen-
cies, can have confidence that
I will assist them as the law al-
lows.
All of our citizens should
be free from living in fear
that their home is going to be
robbed. I want criminals to be
very uncomfortable in Crosby
County. I am asking for your
vote on November 4th. Togeth-
er let’s make Crosby County a
better place to live.

The political process re-
quires a candidate to inform
the voters of his qualifications
and philosophy regarding the
position. I have tried to make
myself available to answer any
questions or concerns. I find it
rude to interrupt your private
lives uninvited, and I have
tried not to force myself on you
through this election cycle.
I believe in God first, fam-
ily second, country third, and
the work you are called to do
fourth. These priorities influ-
ence every decision I make in
my life. The Bible provides ba-
sic Christian moral principles
that benefit anyone that com-
mits their daily conduct in ac-
cordance with those rules. My
family provides me love and af-
fection that sustains my resolve,
together with an inherent sense
of responsibility that encour-
ages me to use judgment and
patience in my daily life.
This country provides the
opportunity and freedom to
me, and to millions of people
to live and prosper by having a
set of rules and principles that
promote equal justice to all citi-
zens. This allows individuals to
live their life according to their
desire unless it encroaches on
other’s rights. I believe that ev-
eryone is endowed with a set of
unique talents and abilities that
allows them to perform certain
tasks competently and efficient-
ly. When you find the job you
can do well, you realize a great
sense of satisfaction doing that
work.
I am a fourth generation
resident of Crosby County, and
have never considered any oth-
er place my home.
My wife, Tracy, was also
raised in Crosby County. We
were married in Crosbyton
more than 30 years ago.
We raised our 3 kids,
Weston, Megan and Matthew
here in Crosby County. Megan
is a senior and Matthew is a ju-
nior at Texas Tech. Weston, to-
gether with his wife, Whitney,
and sons, Stedson and Sterling
make their home south of Lo-
renzo. I believe that Crosby
County is a wonderful place to
live and raise your family.
Regardless of the outcome
of this election, I will always do
my best to support this county.
I graduated from Ralls in

riculture Economics from Tex-
as Tech in 1988, and my J.D.
from Texas Tech School of Law
in 1991. I am 54 years old, and
have been practicing law as a
trial lawyer for 23 years. I have
represented thousands of clients
against hundreds of lawyers in
front of numerous judges and
most, if not all, will tell you that
I have integrity and a strong
work ethic.
I want to be the next County
Attorney for Crosby County. I
have the ability and experience
to provide the more than 6,000
residents of this county a voice
for law and order. I am commit-
ted to assisting the 15 full-time
peace officers accomplish their
job in upholding and enforc-
ing the law. I will be fiscally
responsible in the administra-
tion of justice for the county. I
intend to see that those persons
charged with a crime, as well as
the citizens of Crosby County,
are given their day in court in a
timely manner.
The County Attorney must
be willing to conduct jury trials
to move the cases on the docket.
Currently there are more than
250 cases pending in Crosby
County. One of these defen-
dants has recently requested a
jury trial, and more may do so.
I am committed to using all av-
enues, including jury trials, to
move cases. For these reasons,
and many more,
I am asking for your vote
on November 4th.
