FHA Convention
Rivercrest Girls At
Four members of the Rivercrest
Chapter FHA are to attend the
annual convention of the Texas
Association, meeting in San An-
tonio, April 29-30.
Theme of this year’s • meeting
“Citizenship — Youth’s Greatest
Challenge,” will be emphasized in
the keynote address by Dr. Carl
S. Winters. Dr. Winters is a world
traveler, having circled the globe
thre times on special assignments
in Crime, Government, and World
Missions.

Miss Gartman Is
Shower Honoree
Miss Rosemary Gartman, bride-
elect of A3c Richard Virgil Rob-
erts, was complimented at a per-
nuptial shower Monday evening at
Calvary Baptist Church in Talco.
The refreshment table was cov-
ered with a blue cloth, overlaid
with lace and centered with a bou-
quet of blue flowers, and tall blue

ly burned hand while on a con-
struction job in Tennessee about
three weeks ago, is able to be up
and about, but the doctor said
Monday it will be at least another
month before he can go back to

Mrs. Irene Pew and Mrs. Lucy
Hervey were in Bogata Sunday
afternoon viewing the beautiful
blue bonnets at the Bogata Ceme-
tery and the Smith Cemetery at
Rosalie.
Miss Joan Walthea and Carolyn
Kennedy of Bogata, attended ser-
vices at the Baptist Church here
Sunday.
Ned Rhodes of Troup, spent
Sunday in the home of his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rhodes.
Rev. Calvin Perminto of Hen-
derson, occupied the pulpit at the
Baptist Church Sunday. Mrs. Per-
minto and little daughter, Paula,
did not accompany him here due
to illness.
Avret Lynn Vaughan of Cooper,
visited in the home of his father,
G. A. Baughan, Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Drue Pirtle and
Mr. and Mis. Harvey Lee Jean and
children of Longview, arrived Sat-
urlay to spend the week end at
their home here and in the home
of their parents. Mr. and Mrs. E.
V. Pirtle and Mr. and Mrs. John
Parker. They reported lots of
flood water between here and
Longview.
Mr .and Mrs. Cecil Kinsey of
Pittsburg, spent the week end in
the home of his brother, Jim Kin-
sey and Otto.
Gus Ward of Bogata and Mrs.
Irene Pew transacted business in
Clarksville, Friday.
Mrs. Earl Hawkins visited in
the home of her mother, Mrs. T.
A. York at Bogata, Monday.

Tuesday for medical attention at
the Talco Hospital and Clinic.
