Launched By
Girl Scouts
With 86 girls and 16 leaders
present, the Clarksville Girl
Scout Neighborhood got under-
way tor the year with a fun
gathering In the Scout hut Mon-
day afternoon at four thirty.
New Brownies, all 22 of them,
were introduced and welcomed
Into ther neighborhood. Their
leaders are Mrs. Billy Mauldin
and Mrs. Mickey Russell, as-
sisted by Mrs. BUI Williams.
Following the Introductions,
several Important announce •
ments were made pertaining to
the Scoutorama, to be held Nov-
ember 7 in Paris In which
Clarksville girls will sponsor
Low’s birthday* on October 31;
The dimes given for her birth-
day go toward promoting the
International Scout movement.
Group singing was a second
feature of the program followed
by Individual skits presented by
each troop. A nose-bag lunch
was enjoyed by the girls and
leaders and as a final feature
of the evening's activities, Mrs.
Maurice Love showed colored
slides of the Day Camp held
this summer at Glenn Haven by
the troops represented. The
films rroved to be the highlight
of the evening.
