Llano, Texas, Feb. 0.—Deed
was filed today for record in
the clerk’s office at this place,
conveying 200 acres of land
known as the Heath gold mine,
situated five miles east of Llano,
. to the Gold and Rare Metal Min-
ing Company, a $500,000 Phoenix,
Ariz., Company, from McCarty
Moore of Dallas. It is under-
stood that the consideration was
in excess of $100,000. Opera-
tions in development have now
begun. A. V. Oliver, a Califor-
nia miner of thirty five years’
experience is in charge of the
property as superintendent. It
i» hoped that this enterprise will
fully demonstrate that Llano
county possesses dividend-pay
ing mining propositions. Sev-
eral experts have recently been
here and pronounce it all tbat
could be asked.—Dallas News.
The Mr. Moore spoken of
above is a nepbew of Rev. J. A.
Moore of tbis city and went to
Llano a few years ago a poor
boy. but has struck it rich.
A few minntes delay in treat-
ing some cases of croup, even
the length of time it takes -to
go for a doctor often proves
dangerous. The safest way is
to keep Chamberlain’s Cough
Remedy in the house, and at the
first indication of croup give the
child a dose. Pleasant to take
and always cures. 8old by all
dealers.
It May Be Pneumonia
“A hard chill, pain through the chest, difficult breathing.
Then fever, with great prostration.” If this should
be your experience, send for your doctor. You may
have pneumonia! If your -doctor cannot come at once,
give Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral. When he comes, tell him
exactly what you have done. Then do as he says.

Is fairly good under tbe hell

seed, fertilisers and
pvopar cultivation are the fac-
tors In J. 8. Williams’ opinion,
that mads the ootton under the
adversities. ’
Tbe cultivation was done In a
way to oover the middles of the
rows with loose earth, In order
to prevent tbe drying of the
anbeoil which holds the water
supply for plants daring a con-
tinuous drouth. Fertiliser was
used at the rata of 250 pounds
par acre and applied in the bed
inches deep, with fertiliser
planter, two to three weeks
before planting the cotton. The
benefit from the use of fertiliser
in rate of growth and yield was
very groat. A few rows nn
fertilised, planted after the hail
storm, would have yielded at
the rate of e oele per 10 acres,
whereas adjoining fertilised
rows yielded et rate of half bale
per acre.
The fertiliser was acid phospate
and ootton meal. J. 8. Williams
will mix his own fertiliser tbis
year and will use about 120 tons
on his cotton end corn.
.. With a clean firm seed bed,
fertiliser, proper cultivation and
highly bred cotton, the making
of a 500 pound bale to the acre
is a comparatively easy matter.
It may he seen which makes a
500 pound bale from 1250 to 1280
pounds of seed cotton, only a
small yield baa to be made in
