The wedding of Miss Jo Ann
Schobel, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert L. Schobei of Col-
umbus, and James A. Weikel,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin C.
Weikel of La Grange, took
place at 6:30 Saturday evening
in St. Anthony’s Catholic
church in Columbus. \
The double ring ceremony
was performed by the Rev.
Thomas J. Collens Altar boys
were cousins of the bride,
Bubby Dostal and Terry Dos-
tal of Eagle Lake. Wedding
music was provided by St. An-
thony's choir. The church de-
corations were altar arrange-
ments of white glads, large
mums and pom pom mums, a
white aisle runner with satin
roping, white bows and lemon
foliage.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. For her
wedding she chose a formal
gown of diamond white alen-
con lace. The dress was fash-
ioned in the trumpet silhouette
and featured elbow sleeves
and a scooped neckline. The
alencon lace was combined
with English net to form the
skirt in three tiers. The de-
tachable train was of peau de
soie and cascaded to cathedral
length. Her veil was a mantilla
of matching lace and cascaded
to fingertip length. She car-
ried a bouquet of trailing white
Japet orchids forming a cas-
cade design and surrounded by
lily of the valley.
Miss Jean Braden of Colum-
bus was the bride’s maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss-
es Carol Schobel and.Jan Gli-
thero of Columbus; Sandy
Weikel, Kay Zapalac and Su-
sie Kulhanek of La Grange.
The attendants’ gowns were
fashioned of gold peau de soie,
with empire bodice, away from
neck stand-up rolled collar, el-
bow length sleeves and slim
floor length skirts. Their head-
dresses were pillboxes covered
to match their gowns with a
circlet of illusion caught at the

and Kenneth Doyle Beasley
III were married in a double
ring ceremony at 6:30 Satur-
day evening in St. Patrick's
Catholic church in Corpus
Christi by the Rev. James Pe-
tru.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William V. Hrn-
cir of Corpus Christi, formerly
of La Grange. She attended
Sacred Heart school here and
graduated from W. B. Ray
High school in Corpus Christi.
She also attended Southwest
Texas State college and gradu-
ated from the Spohn Hospital
School of Radiology in Corpus
Christi.
The groom is the son of Mrs.
Kenneth Beasley of Freeport.
He is a graduate of Lamar
High school in Houston and is
currently attending the Uni-
versity of Houston.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was attired in
|a white peau de soie gown
j with scooped neckline, fitted
bodice and a skirt that flow-
ed into a train. Her veil of il-
I lusion was held by a flat rib-
bon bow. She carried a bou-
quet of white roses centered
with a white orchid.
Miss Barbara Forrest and
Jock McGown, both of Hous-
back with a bow. They carried
cascade bouquets of Tropican-
na roses and Peruvian lilies.
Ricky Blume served as the
best man. Groomsmen were
Ronald Baca, Bobby Schobel,
Andy Schobel, James Tiemann
and Bill Yates. Ushers were
Jerry Schobel, Anthony Baum-
bach, Lonnie Daniels and
Mike Lobpries.
The mother of the bride
wore a bay-berry green dress
of lace and silk crepe with
matching accessories and a
corsage of white phalaenopsis
orchids. The groom’s mother’s
dress was of soft brown lace
with beige accessories and a
corsage of green cymbidium

Following the ceremony the
reception was held in the yard
of the bride’s home. Assisting
at the reception were Lucy

The groom’s table held the
huge spice cake and coffee ser-
vice and was centered with a
large arrangement of talisman
roses Other refreshments were
served from other appropriate-
ly decorated tables. Hurricane
lamps and ropes of satin rib-
bon lined the walk which led
to the reception setting.

Honors Miss Klesel
A miscellaneous shower,
honoring Miss Vernice Klesel,
bride-to-be of Werner Willrich,
was held in the Hospitality
Room of the First National
Bank at three o’clock Sunday
afternoon.
Hostesses for the courtesy
were relatives of the grootn-
ton, served as maid of honor
and best man. Jennifer Beas-
ley, sister of the groom, was
flower girl. The bride’s at-
tendants wore aqua chiffon
dresses with matching acces-
sories. Each carried a long
stemmed white glamelia flow-
er.
John Hrncir of Corpus
Christi, cousin of the bride,
and Robert F. Noble III of
Houston were the ushers. Wit-
nesses were Mr. and Mrs. E.
H. Francke of La Grange, un -
cle and aunt of the bride.
The bride’s mother wore a
pink embroidered sheath and
the groom’s mother’s gown was
beige lace. Their corsages were
white carnations.
The reception following the
ceremony was held in the
home of the bride’s parents.
Assisting at the reception were
Mrs. A. A. Judd Jr. of Austin,
Mrs. G. L. Hill of Whitney,
Mrs. Walter Kralik of Corpus
Christi and Mrs. A. W. Zouza-
lik of San Antonio.
White roses and the bride’s
bouquet centered the bride’s
table which was covered with
a cut-work linen cloth. The
three tiered wedding cake
which was decorated with
sugar spun roses and a bride
and groom figurine on top,
was served with punch.
Following a wedding trip to
New Orleans the couple will
live in Houston.

carnation corsages. The hos-
tesses also wore pink corsages.
An arrangement of colorful
summer flowers centered the
lace covered refreshment table
where white cake squares
trimmed with pink rosebuds,
yellow and white chicken sa-
lad ribbon sandwiches, chips,
mints, punch and coffee were
served.
The gift table, also covered
with a lace cloth, held a bride
doll. The gifts were displayed
on it after they were opened
and presented to the honoree.
