Boot Camp '95 Exec Staffers needed
The Student Life Office has announced three executive staff
positions available. The executive staff works endless hours
throughout the summer to make orientation happen. Their du-
ties arc vast and their responsibilities arc large. Arc you inter-
ested? If so pick up an application in Student Life and return it
completed before Friday. If you have any questions or would

Come join us for worship and fellowship every Monday and
Wednesday at noon for about 20 minutes. (You still have time
for lunch and you won't have to wait in a long line). We arc

MABSM mission trip
The annual Ministerial AllianceBaptist Student Ministries
Mission Trip will travel to New Orleans March 10-16. There
arc many different opportunities for ministry including: repairs
on senior adults homes childrenrecreation dramamusic con-
ducting worship services and working in a homeless shelter.
Come by the BSM office Packer 208 for more information or
to sign up for the trip. All those who have signed up to go need
to go by the BSM office to pick up your letters.
Writing Lab open
The writing lab is available for all students needing assis-
tance while writing papers. The hours for the spring semester
arc Monday-Thursday 1-5 p.m.
FAFSA forms ready
If you completed cither the Free Application for Federal Stu-
dent Aid (FAFSA) or a renewal form for the 1994-1995 school
year you should have received a renewal form in December of
1994. This foim provides the opportunity to apply for financial
aid for the 1995-96 school year by updating information you
submitted for the 1994-95 school year.
All students are encouraged to file their 1994 income tax re-
turns early and keep copies for your financial aid file. Tax return
insinuation is needed to complete you renewal form. Please come
by the Student Aid Office Room 109 in Packer and pick up
additional financial aid forms required to make a completed fi-
nancial aid application. Completed financial aid applications for
the 1995-96 school year aie due in the Student Aid Office by
May 1.
Prayer for revival
Arc you piaying for revival on our campus and in our com-
munity? Would you like to join with a group of students com-
mitted to the same thing? There will be an infromal group gath-
ering to lift these iequcsl unto the Lord Monday through Friday
at 7 a.m. on the second floor of the University Center.
Job Fair meeting
Anyone interested in going to the Job Fair in Abilene is in-
vited to come to a meeting in Room 123 at Newman Hall. Ann
Harris will review important information about such topics as
interviewing and the proper dress. It will he at 10 a.m. Friday.

SF hosts Alumni Speakers'

Student Foundation will host
the Alumni Speakers' Day Friday.
The speakers will visit various
9 a.m. and 1 1 a. in classes in their
vocational Holds.
This day is sol aside for the
alumni of Howard Payne who
have entered into the business
world to come back and share
with Howard Payne University
students what they learned in col-
lege and how it has helped them.
It is meant to be a constructive
demonstration ol the transition
they made from college into the
work force. According to Alumni
Coordinator Kathy Owen it is a
good way for students to meet and

Ninth Annual Governor's Confer-
ence on the Prevention of Child
Abuse "Childhood Decides:
Prison or Promise" Jan. 23-24.
Swanson attended as a student
in the field of social work and as
a Family Outreach ol Brown wood
Volunteer.

administrator. Juvenile Justice and
Delinquency Prevention ol the

Washington. D C. Wilson's speech
gave overwhelming evidence ol
the incidence ol child abuse in
relationship to the abused child

Music will be James Collins of
Fredericksburg. He is the minis-
ter of education music and youth
at First Baptist Church
Fredericksburg. Speaking for the
School of Psychology will be Dr.
Paul Sorrclls from Abilene. He is
the dean of the office of graduate
studies al Hardin-Simmons Uni-
versity. He has a background in
family and marriage ministry. Dr.
Dale Carmichacl from Austin will
be speaking in the School of Edu-
cation. He is retired from the
Texas Education Association. His

child abuse a longitudinal study
of reported abuse cases compared
to a control group of non-abuse
cases which showed the abused
cases increased to a 53 percent
likelihood of involvement in seri-
ous crime 38 percent more
