attend his Community Forum, featuring
a question-answer session, from 4-5:30
p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the directors’
meeting Yoom on the sixth floor of Citi-
zens Bank, 1300 Rollingbrook Drive in
Baytown.
The Baytown area's three state rep-
resentatives, Dan Shelley, Mike Jackson
and Fred Bosse, have been invited to
participate in the forum, at which Sen.
Green will preside.

have been selected to participate
in the National Institute for
Leadership Development’s
Leaders program, a national
leadership training Workshop for
administrators' and faculty of
community and junior colleges
from across the United States
and Canada.

pations; Ejainc McCain, fashion

tor; and Donna Price Zuniga,*
counselor and acting director of
Lee College-Huntsvilie Center.
The horiorces will attend the
Houston Leaders conference, to
be held at the Westin Galleria
March 23-29. Houston Com-
munity ; College is the host for
this conference.
During the program, they will
be mentored by other commtin-
ity college faculty members and
administrators to work on pro-
jects that will aid the institution r
and foster individual profes-
sidnal growth.
Leaders were chosen for their
talents, interests in advancement
in higher education and the
quality of their proposed
projects.
Coffman’s project will be to
develop and implement an intru-
sive advising system, im which
students are placed in classes
appropriate to their levels of
skills and tracked as they con-
tinue through college in an ef-
fort to increase retention. She
will be working with Jim Dob-
bins, LC director of information
systems and institutional
research.
A graduate of the University
of Central Arkansas with a mas-
ter’s"* degree in rehabilitation
counseling from the University
of Arkansas, she now resides in
Deer Park with her husband,
Ike, and 8-year-old son,
Zachary. „.
Locked graduated from Lee
College and earned her BBA at
University of Texas and her
MBA at University of Houston-
Clear Lake. An instructor at Lee
College since 1983, she will de-
velop a computer-assisted math
tutorial program to help indust-
rial contract students progress to
their appropriate skills levels
with the help of her mentor, Dr.
William Farley, computer infor-
mation systems instructor at the
college.
She and her husband, Jimmy,
LC Technical Education Divi-
sioa chain reside in"Baytown,
Imt'she 1 has two daughters,
Christine and Morgan. She is
also the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Heintschel of
Baytown.
/•Maher, a La Porte resident,
will work on a project with men-
tor John McCormick, LC
academic dean, to improve the
teaching presentations of faculty
in the health care occupations
field. The mother of four is mar-
ried to Dr. Lawrence Maher, a
former LC student, and lives in
La Porte.
Maher earned her bachelors
degree in nursing from Domini-
can College in Houston and her
masters degree from Tex^s Wo-
man’s University in Houston.
Maher is currently pursuing her
doctorate in higher education
administration at the University
of Houston University Park.
.McCain will be working on ,a
project with Dr. Charles Green,
chancellor, and Dr. Martha
Wong, training coordinator,,
both of Houston Community
College. The project will iden-
tify successful team leadership
at mid-management levels in the ‘
community college environment
and develop training techniques
to pass these skills on to others.
A graduate of Southwest
Texas State University with a
• master’s degree from Texas A &
M University, McCain has two
children, Jason and Casey.
Price-Zuniga earned her ba-
chelor’s degree in teaching, with
a specch/hearing certification,
and her master’s degree in edu-
cation, with emppasis in
counseling and guidance,, from
Sam Houston State University.
She'will be working with LC
history and foreign language in-
structbrDr. Fred Kocstler on de-
veloping an effective manage-
ment system for the administra-
tion of LC academic and
tpchnical/vocational programs.
