One hundred and twenty-six
German Alien women were reg-
istered in Galveston last week,
several of them were close to 80
years old.
July 4th will be a big day for
the Allies and the cause of
Liberty, as eighty-nine ships will
be launched on that day at the
various Jship yards of our
Country.
Sixty one are known to be dead
and 178 persons are in the hos-
pital at Gary, Indiana caused by
the wreck of the circus train
near that place last Friday. The
wreck was caused by a collision
with San empty troop train that
was making fast time into
Chicago.
The report comes from the
front in France that Germany is
preparing for the most gigantic
blow of the war. We have been
under impression that the last
two blows by Germany were the
most! gigantic and that they
would not have any more such
blows in reserve. But we shall
see what we shall see.
The Austrian Defeat in Italy is
a hard blow to the Central pow-
ers from which it will be hard
for them to recover. It would
seem from the reports that the
Gods of the Allies is taking part
and helping them to victory, as
the flood waters in the Piave
river has caused the defeat of the
Austrians and forced them to re-
treat across the river,
THE AUSTRIAN DRIVE IN ITALY.
The only important accomplish-
ments of the Austrians was the
capture of an aggregate of 40,-
000 Italians, if their statement is
to be accepted. Against the Ital-
ians have captured somewhere
around 10,000 to 12,000 Austrians.
It should be considered that tl e
number captured by the attack-
ers is ordinarily greater than the
number captured by the defend-
ers, since the defenders usually
try to hold their positions without
advancing, and the attackers are
driving and here and there cut-
ting off advanced posts. On the
other hand, it is ordinarily true
that the number of attackers
slain is greater than the number
of defenders slain, because the
defenders are intrenched and the
attackers are in the open. It has
been estimated that the Austrian
fosses in killed and wounded dur-
ing the week as high as 150.000.

Will you greet the Fourth of July with a happy consciousness
of a good deed well doner*
June 28th has been set as National War Savings Day. Your
country expects you on that day to pledge every penny you can,
up to $ 1,000, toward the purchase of War Savings Stamps.
The price of American citizenship is no longer cheap. A new
hour has struck. The crash of war has ground all semblance
of cheapness out of being an American. We must pay the
price now.
On June 28th, Your Country Asks You to
Balance Your Patriotic Cash Account
Every penny you withhold, that you are able to lend, extends
aid and comfort to the enemy. •
No legal summons will compel payment. You are called to
payment by the higher, more chivalric summons to volunteer
your pledge to purchase this year every dollar’s worth of War
Savings Stamps you can.

Chronic Constipation.
Perhaps you have never thought of
it, but this disorder is due to a lack of
moisture in the residua] matter of the
food. If you will drink an abundance
of water, eat raw fruits and take lots
of outdoor exercise, you may be able
eventually to overcome it entirely. In
the meantime use the most mild and
gentle laxatives. Strong and harsh
cathartics take too much water out of
the system and make a bad matter
worse. Chamberlains Tablets are
easy and pleasant to take, and most
agreeable in effect. Givo them a trial
