At last the historic winds have
blown through that banner of the
Lone Star State and have unfurled
•the name of the true creator of the
First Texas Flag which is none other
than Sarah Rudolph Dodson of
Grimes Oouaty.
Texas was originally a barren wild-
erness with only a few Mexican set-
tlements here and there, Han Anton-
io being the headquarters. American
civilization was uhknown, as the only
inhabitants were roving depredating
Indians. It was in those days that
Mbses Austin secured a grant from
the Mexican government to establish
