United States Savings Bond* in
San Patricio County were
$48 010, according to County
Bond Chairman Charles
Snencer. Sales for the first four
months totaled $141,301 with 47
per cent of the 1V71 goal
achieved
Saks in Texas during April
totaled $17,700,730, while year-
to-date sales were $«,868,437
with 38 per cent of the 1071 goal
of $181.9 million achieved.
Nationally, Savings Bond
sales during the month totaled
$483 million, 38.7 per cent
above 1970 sale*. Sales for the
four month period amounted to
$1,838 million, 18.1 per cant
above a year earlier.
"During this time of year
many people are looking for
suitable graduation and
wedding gifts. Savings Bonds
make ideal gift* for any oc-
casion for they are the gift that
keeps on giving. They can be
bought at you local tank and
the Savings Division fca*
supplied all banks with special
gift envelopes when bonds are
given at gifts,” Chairman
Spencer stated.
Free rowing and free
co rawing .have been added to
the program this year and
troops will schedule at least
one period during the week
when the boys will have tw in
the boats and canoes.
The following merit badges
will be offered as a part ei the
camp program: camping,
cooking, nature pfoaaeriMg,
wildlife management, con-
servation of natural resource*,
swimming, life saving, rowing,
canoeing, trehery and per-
sona) fitneaa. Boys will ahe he
aide to qualify fur the scoot
lifeguard and mile swim
award.
Meals will tw served fo a
modern dining hall at the camp
and the camp fee has been set
at $33.90 per boy.
