Commissioners
Court
The Rains County Com-
missioners’ Court met in
regular session on Tuesday,
Nov. 26, 1996, at 10:00 a.m.,
with the following members of
the court being present: County
Commissioners Jimmy“Rob-
erts, William Potts, Gary
Bishop, Rayford Briggs, and
County Judge Diane Fleming.
Others attending were
Deborah Traylor, Deputy
County/District Clerk, Teresa
Northcutt, County Treasurer,
John Wright, Bobby Sisk, and
Edward Toles.
Taped proceedings of court
were duly transcribed by: Mary
Sheppard, county clerk/court
ex-officio. All motions carried
unanimously unless otherwise
noted. I
The court approved the
minutes of the previous
meetings as read. The court
approved warrants authorizing
payment of accounts. The court
accepted the motiva benefits as
presented by Elizabeth Parker
for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
The court accepted the
collection contract as submitted
by the appraisal district. The
court increased the bonds for
the county/district clerk’s office
as discussed to be submitted to
court at a later date.
The court approved the
budget amendment from the
non-departmental line item
miscellaneous, to county/dis-
trict clerk line item bonds, to
satisfy the bond premium for
the increase of the bonds.
The matter of opening bids
for equipment (HD6G tractor
shovel) for sale in Precinct No.
3, and take any action necessary
came to the attention of the
court.
Bids were received from:
James Calhoun, $1650; Wayne
Luckett, $4001; Kerry Boyer,
$2750.25; Jerry Buckingham,
$3100; Kenneth Frances,
$2755; John Wright, $2250
and Carbon Tractor, $1290.
The court accepted the bid of
Wayne Luckett in the amount
of $4001.
