The program will be
held in Van with registra-
tion beginning each

will be free preventive
and primary care for un-

The services provided

body mass index, glu-
cose, and cholesterol),
student physicals, to-

The purpose of the
program is to encourage
eating healthy foods and
physical activity as well
as avoiding tobacco use

“Our goal for this pro-

want to refer participants
that do not currently
have providers to medi-
cal homes as much as
we can and ultimately
want to encourage par-
ticipants to adopt
healthy lifestyles to im-
prove their quality of
life,” NET Health Chief
Executive Officer
George Roberts said.
Also, following the
advice of your doctors,
knowing your numbers,
managing your health
and getting regular
screenings is encour-
aged.
Anyone who would
like more information on
the program may call
NET Health at 1-877-

MARTINS MILL—School board trustees have
approved the hiring of Cory Hines as the new prin-
cipal at Martins Mill High School.
Hines, a middle school principal in Woden ISD (near
Nacogdoches), was selected from among seven can-

start his new duties at Martins Mill ISD on July 1.
Hines will be taking over as high school principal
for Doug Barncastle, who is moving into the new
position of director of security and student safety, as
well as retaining his duties as head girls basketball
coach.
The school board’s action took place in a special

GRAND SALINE—
Van Zandt County’s only
municipal swimming
pool currently open, has
started this season with
big expectations amidst
several changes.
Patrons of the pool
might notice brightly
decorated surfboard cut-
outs and other new decor
at the facility on U.S.
Highway 80, but that is
not the only change in
place.
There is a new pool
manager, Tina Adams,
and a fully certified life-
guard staff.
“Our lifeguards this
year are all certified. Ev-
erybody who works
there now is certified and
I have a pool manage-
ment certification,” she
said.
It is all an effort to im-
prove safety at the pool,
which Adams said will
hopefully encourage
more people to come out
for a day of swimming.
“I’m working with 10
lifeguards on staff and we
have weekly training, at
least one hour per week,
and really we are train-
ing every night after
close,” Adams said.
“We do a lot of mock
drills,” she continued.
“We want each of them
to be able to handle
emergency situations that
might come up and we
